Suggestions for improvement?  the site is still a work in progress.  things will be added constantly and slowly.  after all, this site is run by neurosurgery residents, who we all know have buttloads of free time.

Kenny--the site looks good, I’m hoping that the people will all fileter over “sans BS”. Great job--keep it up

Kenny and Mark- Thanks for getting this up and running.  I think it has the potential to be a great resource for med students interested in the field.

I was sitting around dictating charts with an ortho friend of mine the other day and he showed me the main ortho forum on the web- strangely enough 100’s of them post after the match with these stats:

Undergrad institution
MCAT
Med school (and GPA/grades, whatever)
Board Scores
Pubs
Away rotations
Where they received interviews, where they went
Rank lists (this I could barely believe)
Where they matched

Now, I’m not dying to share my rank list with the world, and I doubt I could even remember it, but I wondered what other people thought about giving out this kind of info to help applicants get a feel for the process...I think it would really only work in a registered forum, if then.  Still, it would be great to see as an applicant.  Thoughts?

filly:
fantastic idea.  we could try to start a new thread for this year’s match or just wait until next year when hopefully there will be more than 10 people registered on the site.

Mark/Kenny-
You guys should close down the other site and stream line all forums over to this one.

agree that this would be a nice thing to see, agree that it seems like a little bit of a stretch. hopefully people will get the message that this site is intended to be actually helpful (read: fundamentally different) than nsmatch. i think there is a lot of good mentoring that can happen and useful dissemination of information to applicants/med students in a properly-done and moderated format.

nice work, guys.

I hope this won’t be taken the wrong way, but here are my $0.02.

Close down NSMATCH.com or at least freeze the ablity to post new threads/replies. I really do not see the sense behind having two forums.  Is it possible to transfer teh old threads to the new site?

Don’t flame me, I’m quite new to the whole thing. Been surfing nsmatch.com only for a couple of weeks now. So, it’s merely a suggestion.

Thanks for a great site.  I’ve been interested in NS for a long time.  The cases and images will be really cool, especially without all the extraneous crap on nsmatch.

I only discovered this site a few months ago and feel that it has some very useful information and has great potential.  Specifically, I like hearing about specifics of various programs and pros/cons.  The Wiki site could be awesome if more people would do profiles.  As I’m only an MS4, I can’t contribute to that yet, but I definitely will once I match somewhere.  Keep up the good work!
