hey guys/gals
i need some advice as to which other elective to take in the coming year (besides the NS elective). I was thinking either radiology or neurology. I will be a third year and will have that elective before my NS elective which will also be this coming year. (note: we eventually have to take neurology in 4th year but can take it during one of our 3rd year elective slots). I just want to know which one (radiology of neurology) will help methe most going into the NS elective
thankssmile congrats to all the matched people!

if you can spend most of your time on neuroradiology, then definitely do radiology

First question: are you entertaining any other specialties? If you are at all uncertain, then explore other options.  If not, and you are neurosurg all the way, then I would recommend neuroIR and neurorads.  I also did sub-Is in vascular surg and ENT.  I thought both of those were useful, not only for the skills overlap, but because you’ll interface with them in nsurg either in competition for CEAs or in collaboration for skull base and the like.
