Last I heard, the Correspondence College of Neurosurgical Black Arts has had its license suspended…
But on a more serious note, how else would you expect to become “Board-Certified” in Neurosurgery?
If you read a bit about the various programs, you will learn that most programs have you take the boards every year until you pass (some for practice, some for real).
However, beyond NS boards, 1) you still will have to take Step 3 (no matter which residency),
and 2) you will STILL have to be “board-certified” to practice in ANY specialty, no matter which one you choose.
AND you will still have to get board RE-CERTIFIED,
AND you will still have to earn CME credits.
So if you hate taking tests and studying, you may want to reconsider medicine altogether, since there are probably few other fields where you have to take so many exams.
